CLEVELAND, Ohio (WOIO) – The Cleveland Cavaliers revealed the 2024-25 Nike NBA City Edition uniform at the Cleveland Museum of Art, the inspiration for this season’s design which celebrates “The Art of the Game.”
All 30 NBA teams get city edition uniforms to represent the stories, history, and heritage of their franchise “to honor the inherent bond between court, community and culture.”
The Cavs call the uniforms “a wearable canvas celebrating Cleveland’s visual arts.”

“Art and sport are two powerful forms of human expression, and this is a great opportunity to highlight all the ways that they both inspire and connect people from every walk of life,” Cleveland Museum of Art Chief Marketing Officer Todd Mesek stated. “This partnership not only celebrates the great traditions that connect us, but also the opportunities we have to inspire the next generation.”
“This year’s Nike NBA City Edition jersey honors the rich culture of visual arts in Cleveland,” Cleveland Cavaliers Chief Marketing Officer Chris Kaiser said. “It was designed to take fans back to where most of them first encountered art – through coloring books and paint-by-numbers – while connecting them to a beloved Cleveland institution. This year’s uniform transforms each of its designers into artists and its models into living works of art.”
You can purchase merch now online or at the Cavaliers’ team shop at Rocket Mortgage Fieldhouse.

The uniforms are not the only aspect of the game you’ll see highlighting “The Art of the Game.”
A City Edition Court was designed to accompany the new threads on the six City Edition games throughout the season.
Here’s how the Cavs walked fans through the court design:
The Cavaliers will sport the City Edition uniforms on this special court during these games:

- Monday, Dec. 23 at 7 p.m. vs. Utah Jazz
- Sunday, Jan. 12 at 6 p.m. vs. Indiana Pacers

On top of the games, the Cleveland Museum of Art is partnering with the Cavs for its monthly MIX event on Dec. 6.
The theme in the Ames Family Atrium at the museum is “The Art of the Game.”
This cool partnership is also a charitable one…
The Cavaliers and the Cleveland Museum of Art will donate $10,000 to Rainey Institute in an effort to positively impact Northeast Ohio youth through art and art education the Cavs said.
Rainey Institute was described as “a community organization offering children of all ages the opportunity to discover and develop their talents after school, on weekends and over the summer through arts education programming.”
The institute will receive the check at the final City Edition game.
