We ask a lot of our kitchens: We want them to look beautiful, function flawlessly, and suit the way we cook and eat. Which is why, when it came to conceiving and creating the Transitional Series, its newest line of luxury appliances, Signature Kitchen Suite addressed the full trifecta. The new collection deftly incorporates the latest design and tech trends, combining a chic, understated look with innovative technology—all while providing home cooks with a versatile, pleasurable, chef-level experience.
Here’s a look at some of the ideas behind this innovative collection:
Artificial intelligence: the cutting edge of cooking
The centerpiece of the Transitional Series is the 30-Inch Double Wall Oven (you can also opt for a single version, or a steam-assist convection/speed oven combination), which incorporates the technology that is transforming every aspect of our lives, cooking included: artificial intelligence. Its Gourmet AI Camera feature would be invaluable even if it weren’t smart: The Wi-Fi-enabled high-definition camera lets you see, via a live feed remotely on your smartphone, if the prime rib is browning or the soufflé has risen—even from several rooms away. (When it’s paired with LG’s ThinQ app, you can even take pictures or time-lapse videos of what’s cooking in your oven and share them with family and friends.)
But the AI feature allows the camera to take things a step further: It can identify the food in the oven and automatically set it to the proper auto-cook setting (based on 80 preloaded recipes), giving you perfectly prepared results every time.
Sophisticated cooking modes that keep up with serious cooks
But AI isn’t the only attribute that ambitious home chefs will appreciate, as the Transitional Series ovens go well beyond roasting, baking, and broiling. Most notably, you can now sous-vide, the once chefs-only technique that’s increasingly infiltrating home kitchens—right in your oven.
And the speed-oven feature in the Combi Wall Oven lets you cook up to 20 percent faster (as compared to conventional LG ovens), by enabling the appliance to skip preheating and employing advanced halogen lighting to give a heat assist to convection cooking. And proving that high design can have a bit of fun, these ovens aren’t only lovely to look at, they’re easy to look in: The InstaView feature lets you activate the interior light simply by knocking twice on the exterior—so the heat can stay inside when you’re checking on your food.

Slimmer, sleeker profiles to suit a modern aesthetic
The Transitional portfolio doesn’t stop at ovens: It includes refrigerators, wine refrigerators, and a dishwasher. In every item, the advances in function are matched by upgrades to form. For instance, stainless steel, long a kitchen go-to, now looks more luxurious thanks to a satin effect that softens its reflectivity without muting its aesthetic. Clean lines were also a design priority here, so handles have been slimmed down and controls are touch-screen—no knobs interrupt the sleek surfaces. It all adds up to a Signature Kitchen Suite line that hits all the design marks.
